Famous visitors

Neilson Powless

Not long after finishing the Tour de France, whilst visiting family in London, Neilson decided to have a crack at the famous Box Hill Zig Zags climb.

And of course was lured in to our shop by the smell of fresh coffee!

Neilson is currently one of the world's top professionals famous for wearing the King of the Mountains jersey in the Tour and winning the Clasica de San Sebastian in 2021.  A pleasant surprise to see him arrive and a very nice chap too!

Johan Museeuw

We had a visit from Johan Museeuw in April 2023 - the "Lion of Flanders" Johan was one of the best Classics riders of his day, often winning prestigious races such as the Tour of Flanders and Paris - Roubaix. Also a former world road race champion he is definitely amongst the legends of the sport.

It was a great surprise to meet him and his friends mid ride when he stopped for a coffee.

Alistair Brownlee

Needs no introduction! Multiple world and olympic triathlon champion now turning his hand to long course events. Visited us on a cold day in 2022 and enjoyed a cuppa, a pasty and our delicious fudge but don't tell his coach!

Juan Antonio Fletcher

Former Rabobank and Team Sky professional who won a 2003 Tour de France stage and was a Paris -Roubaix specialist. Presented on Eurosport notably for his pre - event course recce and post race interviews. Visited us in 2020 with his friend doing some vlogging for his social media channel.
